Due to past, present and future disturbances and threatstothe Kalgoorlie-Boulder environment, planning and promoting our activities and the need for conservation and rehabilitation of the Goldfields environment is given high priority. KBULG is the Goldfields premier Community Environmental Organisation with an aim to involve the community in all of its activities. KBULG is committed to working with other community groups, schools, business and government to achieve its goals. COMMUNITY TREE PLANTING DAY 2010
The 2010 Community Tree Planting Day was a huge success and KBULG would like to thank all of 220 vounteers who showed up on the day to help plant over 4000 trees and shrubs in Karlkurla Bushland Park. The event wouldn't have been possible without our wonderful core sponsors: TheCity of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Barrick Kanowna, KCGM, Western Power and Landcorp. A big thanks also goes out to Ron and Barbara Price from Peter Pan Catering who cooked a delicious sausage sizzle for all the hungry participants.
KBULG WINS TOP ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD!
KBULG was awarded the Overall Winner of the 2009 WA Environment Awards!KBULG won two awards in total, theother being the Regional CommunityAchievement Award.Environment Minister Donna Faraghar said KBULG set an outstanding example in regional and community environmental excellence. "KBULG has been working within the community to improve the environment in and around Kalgoorlie-Boulder for the past 35 years," Mrs Faragher said. "Through public awareness, education and action, this community environmental group involves residents, businesses, industry, schools, community groups and visitors." The department of Environment and Conservation recieved more than 100 nominations in 11 categories. Judges considered a wide range of projects which helped promote and maintain the highest standards in environmental care and biodiversity conservation. KBULG would like to congratulate all of the other category winners.
