Annual Community Tree Planting Days 2001

9 June, 2001: On a freezing cold winter's day nearly 300 participants joined together in planting 2000 native seedlings in a new park near the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport. The area was also mulched and landscaped and walk paths have been installed to allow residents and visitors to appreciate the area. The plants are growing really with an 80% success rate.

The Premier, Dr Geoff Gallop, had launched the tree planting day in Kalgoorlie-Boulder a few days earlier as part of World Environment Day celebrations.
