KBULG & Waste Wise Schools

TERM 4 – WASTE FREE LUNCH COMPETITION

The Waste Wise Schools team launched two new resources in Term 3, the Waste-Free Lunch Toolkit and Green Canteen Factsheet, and KBULG wants to celebrate by  running a ‘Waste Free Lunch’ competition this Term.

This competition is open to all Waste Wise Schools and schools interested in becoming Waste Wise Accredited in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder area. Teachers have a chance to win a beautiful class set of ethically made sandwich wraps or individual prizes!

The competition is open during Term 4 2020 and closes Friday 11th December. The winners will be announced during the last week of Term 4 on the KBULG Facebook Page and the KBULG Website.

Entering is easy! Simply run an activity aimed at reducing lunch time waste in your classroom or school and send in the evidence to the KBULG team.

Evidence can include photos of the activity, videos, or even student work samples like waste free lunch recipes, waste free lunch posters or informational letters to parents.

Need ideas? Head to the Waste Wise Schools website and Facebook page to find out what resources they have on offer or contact the KBULG team to discuss some activity options.

KBULG & Keep Australia Beautiful WA - Illegal Littering and Dumping Campaign

Have you seen the new signs around town. The message is clear and the children of Kalgoorlie-Boulder want you to listen! Don’t dump in our backyard.

This was a project that KBULG undertook with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, The Waste Authority of Western Australia and Keep Australia Beautiful in 2019 to tackle the littering and illegal dumping issues in the region.
Congratulation to Jasmin who summitted the winning design which is the basis of the new signs!

Thank you to all the students who summitted their designs!
